Know Google Crawling Machine

Google is still considered as the number one search engine. Besides having a very simple look of the site, Google also provides accurate reply search results. Automated reply indexing system was made Google almost without compromise and fair, it is mean that without human intervention, all sites and blogs for some large and small, new or old players who have almost the same chance.

Google runs on a distributed network of thousands of cheap computers that can perform quickly parallel processing. Parallel processing is a method of computation in which many calculations can be performed simultaneously, significantly speeding up data processing.

One of the reasons why the existing search engines before Google declined in popularity and usefulness is the emergence of Paid Listings. Where search engines who “hunger” will pay / income to sell a position in the search results to advertisers. The weakening of the objectivity of the poisoned search results and underestimated the popularity of the principle of who owned the website. The difference between search engines, which should display your search results, with the channel browser, which brought me to the affiliate business, blurred. Although many search engines who refused to sell their positions in search results, doubt and distrust already spread in the hearts of the users. Integrity Google looks of their website pages who clean from all kinds of clutter, and merely highlight one thing that is the word “Search”. Google does accept advertising, but advertising that they may receive is separated from the search results. Maybe not everyone agrees with how Google ranks search results, but no one who thinks that the top ranking in Google search results can be bought.

Basic Search Engine How it Works

All the search engines work with the same basic way: they “crawl” (crawl) a web page with an automatic software robot called the Spider (spider) or crawler (crawler) that generate / create the index (list) web content which can be found / discovered by the users. Each search engine allows users to search within the list (index) that the search engines that have, for a Title (keyword) or set of keywords. Search results list is displayed in many forms, but most show little information about each web entrant in the list and link those who lead to the web.

How to make a list of every search engine is very unique, thanks to the programming engine spiders a different one another. The main elements in programming spider is on the search engine algorithms, which determine the ranking of each web page who are listed. The ranking determines how search results are displayed.

How Google Works

Google is a major technology assets in the system they belong algorithm, the complicated formula ranking system gives the users, who search for good results and often seemed as if Google is able to read the mind of every person who searches through the search engine giant. The results of the algorithm summarized in a single statistical rankings so called PageRank, Google’s PageRank formula very secretive about this, but the company is promoting the importance of PageRank, and offered to the general webmaster guidelines to improve PageRank. Google shows the average appraisal system of each site (scale 0-10) in the Google toolbar. Although the exact formulas secret, but the basic ingredients PageRank is publicly known.

When Google indexes all or Crawling?

Google crawls sites on the Internet with different depths and with a schedule more than once. So called Deep Crawl (creep in) is done at least once a month. With regard to the complexity of the process of cataloging and the need for making extensive list of web content, it takes more than a week to do the crawl. Because it takes six weeks for a new website or blog to get listed in Google.

Fresh & Deep Crawler Crawler

Google relies entirely on the deep crawl, but the result of a deep crawl can be quickly expired associated with rapid changes in the Internet world. Google launched a fresh crawl therefore who briefly visited the sites on the Internet more frequently than the deep crawl. It’s fresh crawl results will not change the overall index Google’s proprietary, but will update the contents of some web / blog. Google did not announce the schedule and the fresh crawl your site / blog what was targeted, but the webmaster can find out the schedule through the investigation who thoroughly. Google has no obligation to visit any particular URL, with a fresh crawl them. These sites and blogs can increase the opportunity for more frequent visits Google to update their content regularly. Remember the shallowness of the fresh crawl, Google may visit the front page of your site or blog, but may not visit another page. Deep Crawl is more automated and without consideration as well as more rigorous than the Fresh Crawl. A good chance came when the time schedule of the deep crawl, the links from the new page is listed on the main page, so that the deep crawl will index new pages as well. Not all pages of a site will be included in the index by Google, the process of consideration is the secret of the company. Therefore, if you feel there is a page or your article does not have a vital indexed in Google, which you can do is to maximize the promotion.

One thing Google‘s proud of sophistication of their system is that the index creation process takes place automatically

So there is no interference from humans altogether, including the technicians Google (of course they control the robot Spider, but they did not intervene in the result). So it would be futile if they think yours will respond to complaints about the indexing of your blog or website.

Glossary

Crawl: The process by which software is owned by search engine robots to explore all the sites and blogs that exist on the Internet.

Spider: The name is owned by software robots that search engines use for indexing. Other software may be called the Crawler robot.

Index: List owned by their respective search engines about the content of every site and blog on the Internet. This list may consist of millions of categories and words. Each of us doing a search through search engines, search engines are concerned they will access the index, to search for sites / blogs that contain information you want.

Google Captures A Piece Of The Daily Deals Pie With Latest Acquisition

The Daily Deals marketing model may not be so bad after all. Google has officially given it a vote of confidence with the acquisition of daily deals aggregator site, Dealmap.

Google Daily DealsThe acquisition was made public, however, the terms of the deal was not disclosed—no surprise there. Analysts are mum on just what this means for the sector as a whole, but the initial sentiment is that Google’s acquisition of Dealmap is a signal that there could be life left in daily deals. Although Dealmap is an aggregator, its acquisition is strong evidence that the dispensers of daily deals (Groupon et al) will have some relevance, at least for the foreseeable future.

On the other hand, the acquisition of Dealmap could very well be proof of Google’s insatiable appetite for ‘buying stuff’. Google, after all, doesn’t always make the smartest of choices, and even multi-billion dollar companies make mistakes.

The good news though, is that Dealmap wouldn’t be too big of a mistake. The daily deals aggregator was only formed in 2010 and to date, has just 2 million users. With such small numbers and young credentials, I doubt whether Google paid very much for the company. Indeed, Dealmap could very well be what Google needs to boost its own daily deals offering called ‘Google Offers’.

It’s very hard to tell what’s going to happen in the daily deals industry. Even with Google becoming a player, the model could still go under. The key to its survival will ultimately lie in the hands of the businesses that provide the offers. If Google, using Google Offers and Dealmap, can drive profits to these businesses, the industry could very well survive. It remains to be seen, and ultimately, only time will determine that.

Watch the video below to learn more about Google’s own daily deals for businesses.

Google Sponsors Green Flight Challenge

Google gives its all-out support behind the Green Flight Challenge, which is a competition made to motivate the development of energy-efficient personal aircraft. Green Flight Challenge

NASA has included $1.65 million as cash prize. The aircraft must at least reach 100 mph to qualify and have a minimum energy sufficiency of 200 passenger miles per gallon.

The competition is going to be held on September 25 to October 3 at Charles M. Shultz Airport, which is located in Sonoma, California. The Google Green Flight Challenge Exposition will be hosted by NASA and be held at the Moffet Field on October 3.

Google to Install Solar Skylight

Google announced its plan to install a high-tech skylight that has solar cells and optics. It would be placed at one of its office buildings in Silicon Valley. EnFocus Engineering will provide the technology and it said that the Google project will be the test site for its prototype technology.

Solar Skylight EnFocus designed a solar panel that features dozens of optical modules with lenses that direct sunlight on solar cells to generate electricity. The optical system directs and diffuses sunlight so that the room below would be uniformly lit be ambient light.

Even light is hard to accomplish with ordinary skylights. There are times that skylights produce light beams that are too bright because of uneven disbursement. This would not be a problem for homes but it could be an issue in the workplace, which can cause discomfort to some employees.

Google’s primary goal is to have quality lighting for its employees. Saving electricity is just a positive side effect. The company’s main goal is to make its engineers more production in the office. Google said that it likes to study and support new technologies. This is one of the reasons why the company picked EnFocus.

Each EnFocus solar panel can generate up to 288 watts of power. It measures 53 inches by 44 inches with a thickness of 8 inches. It weighs 100 pounds. They are encased in glass boxes to protect the solar cells from the environment.

Google Wants to Redact Email In Android Lawsuit

Google asks the judge in charge of the lawsuit that Oracle filed against it to redact an email written by one of its employees. The search giant said that it is a confidential document and Oracle should not have revealed it in the court. Email

Oracle filed the lawsuit last August 2010 and claimed that Google’s Android platform violated several patents that Oracle owned through its acquisition of Sun Microsystems. The email in question came from Google engineer Tim Lindholm and was sent in August 2010. In the email he said that they were asked to investigate alternatives to Java for Chrome and Android to which he said that there is none and that Google should negotiate for a Java license.

The contents of the email were disclosed last week during a hearing. Judge William Alsup told Google’s lawyers during the hearing that the company they represent will be at the losing end if the contents were revealed to a jury. He said to Oracle’s side that the email is good evidence against the search giant.

Google doesn’t want the email to be made public, especially not in front of a jury. The company maintained that the document was highly confidential and the protective order says that parties involved should give other parties notice when the proceeding will include protected material.

Google Launches Hotel Finder

Google rolled out its Hotel Finder service, which is called as an experiment in finding the perfect hotel. Users can input a location, date for check-in and check-out, and the price range of the hotel. They can also choose the class and rating of the hotel. Google Hotel Finder

Hotel Finder also lets users search via shape, where the users can outline the boundary of the search area. This feature is similar to Yahoo’s Sketch-A-Search, a technology that the company launched in 2010.

Hotel Finder is similar to Google Places in a way except it only gives out hotels in its search results. It could be a complementary service for its ITA travel integration. The new service is not a beta but is considered an experiment.

Google announced that it has plans to acquire ITA for $700 million in July 2010. It specializes in organizing airline data such as availability, flight times, and prices. Google said that acquiring ITA will help it produce new flight search services to simplify the process of comparing different options, searching for available flights, and buying tickets. The deal was recently approved by the Justice Department.

Hotel Finder is a good way to promote Google’s AdWords. After reading the reviews made by other users for hotels, the person can click on a drop-down menu for listings from Expedia, Travelocity, and other review sites.

Ways to Save Google TV

Logitech was one of the first companies that supported Google TV. The company recently announced that it slashed the price of its Logitech Revue Google TV box to $99. This would sell the units at a loss. To make matters worse, Logitech said that the Revue had more returns than sales in the second quarter of this year. google tv

Google plans to revamp the Google TV software this summer so that it would feature an interface based on Android Honeycomb and give users access to the Android Market. Google must also learn from the mistakes of the first generation in order to save the platform.

Google must keep the price of Google TV set-top boxes below $100 to be competitive. Apple TV costs $99 and Roku goes as low as $59. Logitech might say that a $99 Google TV would bring the company losses but more expensive boxes will turn off the consumers.

Google should ship complete hardware because consumers want to get their content without any troubles. When the company launched Google TV, the software was buggy and it didn’t support Android remote controls.

Google and its hardware partners should promote the advantages of a Google TV and why they should get one instead of Roku or Apple TV. Google could use its Android platform as a marketing point.

Set Top Box Price Drop to Favor Google TV

If you don’t have a Google TV in your home, now is the right time to get one. Logitech announced that it would cut the price of its Revue Google TV set-top box to $99 from its original price of $249. The Revue lets users search for interesting things to watch. They can input the actor’s name, channel name, and sports team to get content from the internet. If you connect a USB video camera, you can convert your TV into a video chat monitor. google TV

Logitech said that more Revue units were returned than sold. This is the reason why the company chose to drastically cut the price. People have various reasons why they return the units. One of the reasons was that users encounter problems with TV network sites blocking the Chrome browser from playing their content.

During Logitech’s earnings conference, its CEO Guerrino De Luca tackled the company’s revenues that were in part due to the slow Revue sales. The company needs to make its Google TV products more interesting for the consumers.

The low price of the Revue could bring in more people to Google TV. It was announced by Google that it will update Google TV software so that users will have access to the Android Market.

Google Purchases IBM Patents

Google has purchased more than 1,000 patents from IBM. The patents cover several fields include web-based querying and fabrication and architecture of memory and micro-processing chips. There are patents that are connected to routers and servers. google ibm

The search giant didn’t disclose the total amount for the acquisition, which is a consolation prize for not being able to get its hands on the Nortel patent block. Google initially offered $900 million for the Nortel patents but it lost to a group made up by Microsoft, Apple, Research in Motion and several others.

After failing to get the Nortel patent portfolio, it was reported that Google is attempting to acquire InterDigital, which is a wireless technology company. InterDigital said that it might want to capitalize on its patent portfolio.

Google wants to get mobile patents because of the public’s belief that its wireless patent portfolio is weak compared to its rivals. This makes it vulnerable to patent lawsuits against it Android operating system.

Last year, Oracle filed a patent lawsuit against Google. It claimed that the search giant used Java-based technology in its Android platform. Just earlier this month, Oracles was given the opportunity to depose Google CEO Larry Page in a later date.
