Jelly Bean: Next Version of Android OS

Google CEO Eric Schmidt confirmed that “We have a new operating system, internally known as Ice Cream Sandwich for some reason, which is being released in October/November, which everyone’s really excited about”.

Not only that Google is preparing to release Ice Cream Sandwich but also they are looking forward to the next version Android OS after ICS. According to thisismynext, the next version of Android after Ice Cream Sandwich will be known as “Jelly Bean”. The name is not yet finalized but looks like Jelly Bean is on top of the choice.

As we know Google has a tradition of naming Android versions after desserts and the next version of Android name should start with “J”.

Following the tradition there isn’t much deserts started with “J” so it seems Jelly Bean is a solid choice. The source also mentioned “Jelly Bean” would be all about ““game-changing stuff” that had originally been scheduled for Ice Cream Sandwich is now being pushed to Jelly Bean, as google in hurry to release Ice Cream Sandwich. Still, there are some fairly major architectural, functional, and design changes coming in Ice Cream Sandwich according to the source. For now we are all excited to see Ice Cream Sandwich.
