Facebook’s 2011 f8 Developer Conference

Facebook has finally set a date for its annual f8 developer conference: September 22.

The conference, which Facebook describes as an event for “developers, entrepreneurs and innovators building a more social web by defining tomorrow’s websites, apps and devices,” will take place in San Francisco at the San Francisco Design Center.

At last year’s f8, hosted in August, Facebookannounced a slew of noteworthy changes, including its “Open Graph” and controversial Instant Personalization, which raised numerous privacy concerns and has increased Facebook’s presence on sites across the web, allowing sites to present users with information about their Facebook friends, from the articles they’ve read to the songs they’ve “liked.” (See Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s keynote from last year’s f8 below)

Expect more big news this year, says Facebook. f8 will be “a day filled with new product announcements and deep dives into Facebook technologies,” promised Facebook on its Developer Blog.
