ZTE reveals their upcoming Windows Phone 7 device

Posted: 18 Jul 2011 04:16 AM PDT

As we all know, ZTE will be one of the manufacturers that Microsoft had listed for their Windows Phone 7 devices. In fact, one such device was shown during Microsoft's Worldwide Partner Conference 2011 last week, and it is the device pictured to the right. However it looks like Dr. Luo Zhong Sheng, General Manager of Mobile Communications at ZTE, posted on his Weibo account (China's version of Twitter) a photo of ZTE's upcoming Windows Phone 7 device, which looks nothing like the one they revealed the week before.

Hotmail to roll out new features to combat spam and account hacking

Posted: 18 Jul 2011 04:16 AM PDT

You have probably received weird sounding emails from your friends before, and for those who us who are more suspicious in nature, we think "spam" and don't bother opening it. Spam and account hacking is not new when it comes to public hosted emails from Hotmail, Yahoo and even Gmail has not been exempt from said malicious activities. This is probably due to the clicking of links with misleading titles and also probably due to poor choice of passwords, which is why Hotmail has rolled out two new features that is aimed to deal with those issues.

Panda iPad case is nice to look and touch

Posted: 18 Jul 2011 04:16 AM PDT

When it comes to iPad cases, usually the choices taken are either something sleek, which adds as little weight as possible to the device, or something totally bulky, which is aimed at protecting the device from 60-foot drops. Of course we have the keyboard case alternatives which seem to be gaining popularity, essentially transforming your iPad into a MacBook-ish sort of device. Then we also have cases where its function is more about adding aesthetic value, with practicality taking a back seat.

iPhone 4 apps

Not too long ago, Apple was under fire from the Taiwanese government for not having a 7-day return policy for its App Store in compliance with the country’s Consumer Protection Act. It was reported that Apple decided to bend over and change its rules for the country. Well now it looks like the new App Store policy has officially been changed.

Dual-SIM cover for the iPhone 4

Dual-Sim cover iPhone 4

How would you like to have two phone numbers associated with your iPhone 4? Well you could get an iPhone 4 clone from the streets of China (which unfortunately means you won't be running on iOS) or you could get this new dual-SIM cover by Vaveliero. This neat little case plugs into your iPhone 4?s microSIM tray with an external dual-SIM adapter which you can add two SIM cards to.

But unlike regular dual-SIM phones that allow dual-SIM cards to operate at the same time, this Dual-SIM cover for the iPhone 4 only lets you use one at a time. However, it will allow you to easily switch from one SIM card to the next without having to reboot your phone. You can even set timers for how long you would like to switch SIM cards for. Hit the break to watch a demonstration video if you understand Italian. The Dual SIM iPhone 4 cover is available now for $70 (€ 49.90).

Folding Plug

Don't you just hate it when you're shifting your table or furniture in the room, and you accidentally knock the switch of your computer, which causes it to disconnect and shut it down, taking along with it all your work (that you inconveniently forgot to save)? So did a group of designers who decided to do something about it. Called the Folding Plug, this specially designed plug is meant to get rid of those troubles.

Play video games on your coffee table with the Platinum Multi Game Arcade Table

Coffee tables can generally be found in living rooms, and they're usually adorned by books which have been termed as "coffee table books", which are typically of the art variety with striking covers and titles, meant to inspire conversation and also help alleviate boredom. If you don't think that you're the artsy type of person or that your friends will probably not appreciate philosophical, art-inspired conversation pieces, then perhaps this arcade coffee table might just be what you need.

Mushroom cloud inspired Nuke Lamp does not come cheap

Posted: 18 Jul 2011 04:16 AM PDT

The mushroom cloud given off during the explosion of a nuclear bomb is a pretty iconic image. It's a strange blend of beauty and horror, and despite the rather horrific implications of a nuclear bomb being detonated, it's hard to take ones eyes off the resulting mushroom cloud.

If you are indeed enamored by the mushroom cloud imagery, not to worry as you will be able to get your hands on the image in the shape of a table lamp, as pictured above. I guess when the lights are turned off, it probably resembles a broccoli or a maybe a weird looking tree, but the moment the lights are turned on in the lamp, if you had any questions as it to what it was before, chances are it probably has been answered.

While we don't condone a nuclear war, we sure as heck don't mind if you would like to own this Nuke Lamp, although it will cost you $1,495 which is available at Shapeways.

DIY palm-mounted laser has the ability to blind and set fire to skin

Posted: 18 Jul 2011 04:16 AM PDT

Does anyone remember in the movie Iron Man 2, somewhere towards the big battle at the end where Iron Man emits lasers out of his hands to destroy all the evil robots in one fell swoop? That was pretty cool wasn't it? As it turns out, that technology might not be impossible to replicate after all, although at the moment it probably won't be able to slice metal into two just yet.
